1)   The department of physics was established in 2014 at UG level with the intake of 19students, so that the students of this region may get benefited. This department offers UG degree with combination of Mathematics and Chemistry. After implementation of NEP 2020 physics department also offers value added course. Department is upgrading infrastructural facilities and academic programmed to make physics interesting and attractive to the student.

1)   Missionof department to foster critical thinking, and apply physics to solvereal-world challenges, preparing graduates for diverse careers in academic, industry and beyond. Also motivate student to develop their scientific vision.

1.     Providingknowledge about basic science in simplest form to enhance their skill.

2.     Providingvalue and skill-based course.

3.      Develop confidence and research aptitude.

Thelearning outcomes of the undergraduate degree course in physics are as follows:

1.      In-depth disciplinary knowledge:The student will acquire comprehensive knowledge and understanding of thefundamental concepts, theoretical principles and processes in the main andallied branches of physics.

2.      Hands-on/ Laboratory Skills:Comprehensive hands-on/ laboratory exercises will impart analytical, computational and instrumentation skills. The students will be able todemonstrate mature skills for the collation, evaluation, analysis andpresentation of information, ideas, concepts as well as quantitative and/orqualitative data.

3.      Role of Physics: The students willdevelop awareness and appreciation for the significant role played by physicsin current societal and global issues. They will be able to address andcontribute to such issues through the skills and knowledge acquired during theprogramme.

4.      Communication and Skills. VariousDSCs, DSES, SECs, and GEs have been designed to enhance student's ability towrite methodical, logical and precise reports. The courses will, in addition, guide the student to communicate effectively through presentations, writinglaboratory/ project reports and dissertations.

5.      Critical and Lateral Thinking: Theprogramme will develop the ability to apply the underlying concepts andprinciples of physics and allied fields beyond the classrooms to real lifeapplications, innovation and creativity.

6.      Research skills: The courseprovides an opportunity to students to hone their research and innovationskills through assignment/internship/dissertation. It will enable the studentsto demonstrate mature skills in literature survey, information managementskills, data analysis and research ethics.
